アナーバーの偉大なるミシガンシエターが、2013年のサンダンス映画祭会場のひとつに、また選ばれた！ The great Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor was again chosen for one of the ten venues for the Sundance Film Festival ^o^/
これで、３年連続。 This is the 3rd consecutive year.

I am mighty impressed – that Michigan Theater keeps being selected year after year – It truly is a great movie theater. It’s a gem in the Midwest.

日本語の字幕なんてもちろんないから、筋を追うのが大変かも。でも、全部分からなくてもいいではないか、と私は最近思うのだ。この国に住むようになってから、全部は分からないのが当たり前になって、もう気にならなくなった（人生、どうせ、完璧なんてありえない）。同じような思いの方、映画祭の雰囲気を味わうだけでも楽しいですよ。いかがでしょう？
There will be no Japanese subtitles (or Chinese, Korean, or any other non-English subtitles), so if you are not a native English speaker, it may be hard for you to follow the story. But I think – if you don’t understand 100%, you don’t have to be annoyed or upset. Since I came to the U.S. 27 years ago, I became used to not understanding everything people say. I got adapted to living in a foreign country (after 27 years, America is still, in some sense, a foreign country to me). Life is no way from perfection, so you won’t have to understand every thing you hear, you know. If you are like me, go to the Sundance and just enjoy the festival atmosphere.

良い席を確保したいなら、ticketmaster.com でチケットをお早めに買うことを、おススメします。前回は満席でした。今度もきっとそう。 If you want a good seat, I highly recommend you purchase a ticket now in ticketmaster.com. The venue was packed when I went there last February. I am sure it will be packed again this January.

I agree: I used to read the manga, ダーリンは外国人: they suggested the same idea. Not worrying makes speaking and reading Japanese a lot easier. 🙂

こんにちは。再訪問、ありがとうございます。奥様のブログ拝読しました。面白いですね。絵をやっておられるんですね。お隣町に長くお住まいのようですが、なかなか出会いませんね。弁士さんのこと、聞いてます。若い頃、映画が好きで、オールナイトの映画祭などに行ってヨーロッパの無声映画を見た事があります。ミシガン大学のイベントは行きたいなと思いつつ、なかなか出不精なもので。。。今度の土曜日ですね。行けたら行きたいです。情報ありがとうございます。奥様のブログ、ポチっと押しておきました。私はwordpressを使っているので、日本人の方々のブログは、なかなか目に入りませんが、奥様のブログ、定期的に訪問させていただきます。よかったら、私のブログも、「Like」ボタンを押していただければ、嬉しいです。
お返事ありがとうございます。また、かみさんのブログも訪問くださり、記念すべき”初コメント”をいただきありがとうございました。ワードプレスに登録してライクボタン押しておきました。アメリカは２０年を越えましたが、ミシガンは５年目に入ったところですので、こちらの旅情報や一皮むいた（？）人々のありようなどについて貴ブログを参考にさせてもらっています。そういえば、片岡さんによるとミシガンシアターとデトロイトの美術館にあるシアターは舞台にオルガンが組み込まれていて、無声映画の語りには大変都合がよいシアターなのだそうです。ブログ、また訪問させていただきます。
