デトロイト美術館 (DIA) – その３

デトロイト美術館の美術品が、デトロイト市の財政再建のためにクリステイとかのオークションの競売で売り飛ばされずに済んで、本当によかった。時が経つにつれ、ますます痛感している。 I am so glad the DIA’s arts were not auctioned at somewhere like Christie;s in New York to save the financially-troubled city of Detroit. 去年、サムライ美術展があるというので、実に実に久しぶりにデトロイト美術館に行った。サムライ美術展はもちろん素晴らしかったが、DIAっていい美術館だなあ！と改めて思った。 デトロイト市財政再建のために美術品が売り飛ばされることもありうるのだと思うと、美術館はもっとがんばる気合いが入ったのかな？　最近、おもしろい企画が増えたような印象。 Last year I went to the Japanese Samurai art exhibition with my friends. … Continue reading →

デイエゴ・リベラの壁画の意味がやっと分かった @デトロイト美術館 (DIA) – Diego Rivera & Frida Kahlo in Detroit #2

デトロイト美術館(Detroit Institute of Arts: DIA) の目玉である、デイエゴ・リベラの大壁画。これまで、その意味するものを特に考えることもなく、わあすごいな、と思うくらいでぼーっと見ていたのだが、この「Diego Reivara Frida Kahlo in Detroit」展と、壁画の間にいたボランティア女性たちのおかげで、理解ががぜん深まった　 \(^^)/ Diego Rivera’s murals in the court of the DIA are well known.
